Educational Scholarships

Without the scholarship support of generous Lutherans, many children in Africa and Asia would not have the chance to attend school. The reason: in many developing nations schooling is reserved for the privileged few who can afford the modest tuition of a few hundred dollars a years. In response, the JELA Foundation offers scholarships to impoverished children in Bangladesh and India. Currently, two young girls in a rural village north of Dhaka, and two brothers in Jamkhed, India each receive scholarship support of approximately $30 per month.
