One of the critical needs facing the aging Japanese society is adequate care for elderly who are bedridden and terminally ill. While medical care is certainly important, the JELA Foundation recognizes that mental and spiritual care is of equal importance. The Tokyo-based “Lyra Precaria” training program teaches young adults how to minister to the terminally ill through the use of voice and harp.
