Whenever you have helped the least of these my brothers, you have helped me."

The JELA Foundation regularly sends committed Japanese volunteers to serve in the United States, Brazil, India and Cambodia. In the U.S., for example, junior and senior high school students join in an ecumenical workcamp to repair the homes of elderly. Other volunteers serve as teachers in the slums of Brazil, giving hope to children living in poverty. In India, volunteers make artificial limbs for the handicapped, while those in Cambodia help construct primary schools.
